Pregnant Jessica Simpson Shares Bronchitis Recovery Journey: ‘I Am on My Way to Healthy’
Singer Jessica Simpson has basically been our spirit animal when it comes to her third pregnancy. Between being totally chill about her baby weight and accidentally breaking her toilet seat, she is the queen of being unbothered while expecting. But the 38-year-old got real on Instagram about one actually bothersome thing she’s been dealing with: a bout of bronchitis.
“After a week in the hospital for bronchitis (my fourth time in [two] months), I’m finally home,” the mom-of-two wrote on March 3. “Coughing with Birdie has been a crazy painful journey. I am slowly getting healthier every day. Baby girl was monitored and is doing amazing! 🙏🏼 I am on my way to healthy and counting down the days to see her sweet smile. Sending love and prayers to all the mothers who are going or have gone through this. OUCH.”
Jessica paired the informative caption with a pic of her bundled up in a leopard print hooded robe, hospital gown, and face mask, so it seems as though the singer is seriously going through it with her third bundle of joy.
The pop legend and her husband, former NFL hunk Eric Johnson, announced they were expecting their third child together on September 18 via an adorable Instagram post.
“SURPRISE…” Jess captioned a shot of her kids Maxwell Drew, 6, and Ace Knute, 5, excitedly holding some gender reveal balloons. One literal minute later, she posted another pic of the kids with pink balloons blowing in the wind. “This little baby girl will make us a family of five. We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life,” she wrote.
Since then, the reality TV vet has been taking each aspect of her most recent pregnancy in stride. First, she took to social media to ask advice over her swollen feet and ankles. Then, the singer showed the whole world how she accidentally completely broke her own toilet seat clean off.
We really appreciate how open Jessica has been in this journey — we just hope she starts feeling better soon.
