Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Make Their First Public Appearance of 2020 and They Look Amazing

They’re back! Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan (née Markle) made their first public appearance of 2020 as they visited the Canada house in London on January 7.

Prior to this, the couple remained low-key over the holidays as they took a break from their royal duties. The 35-year-old Duke and 38-year-old Duchess of Sussex stayed in Toronto during their much-deserved time off with their 8-month-old baby, Archie.

“Meghan’s so excited and relaxed back in Toronto,” an insider exclusively told Life & Style in December. “They may go to Banff [to go] skiing over New Year’s. It depends. They’re going to play it by ear. But right now they’re going out to dinners, they’re having fun. They’re not hiding but nobody really notices when they’re in Toronto.”

It turns out, that wasn’t there first Canadian getaway. Back when Meghan and Harry started dating, he would fly out to Toronto to see her since she lived there while filming Suits. So this was the perfect place to bring their baby boy considering how private it is.

“It was exactly what Meghan wanted,” another source told Closer Weekly. “She wanted Archie’s first Christmas to be low-key and mellow where they can all hang out in their pajamas in the living room and laugh and joke — and not have it be very stuffy with the rest of the royal family.”

Harry was all for it, too, despite their plans going against the typical tradition of spending the holidays with Queen Elizabeth in England. “Harry was excited, too, and the fact that they’re still in the Commonwealth made it much easier for them to escape without having to answer a lot of questions from everyone else,” the insider revealed.

The family of three seemed to have made the best of the holidays, and their adorable Christmas card photo proves it. “Just sharing the sweetest Christmas Card from our President and Vice-President, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust tweeted on December 23, alongside a black and white photo. “Very Merry Christmas, everyone!”

We hope their first holidays with their son was extra special.
