She snapped — literally! Selena Gomez took to her Instagram Story earlier this week to address how she feels about Snapchat’s pretty filters that fail to feature users’ natural eye colors.
The pop star, 26, was concerned over the app seemingly insinuating brown eyes aren’t attractive. “Literally every single Snapchat filter has the blue eyes,” she said as she used a filter that changed her eye color and included glasses. “What if you have brown eyes?”

Mood lol (I was looking at myself in the mirror -like an idiot!) Update: taking a social media break. Again. As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given. Kindness and encouragement only for a bit! Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody’s feelings. Obvi.
The “Come and Get It” singer was having a convo with her friend who wasn’t on camera. “Am I supposed to have these eyes to look good?” she continued. “They look pretty.” Before continuing her rant, Selena changed to a silly filter that morphed her face and changed her voice to sound deep. “They should have more filters like this,” she added. “Oh, great, it’s the only that uses my brown eyes. Look at this,” she said looking unpleased.
“They have the blue eyes for all the ones that are like really pretty and then I put on this and it’s like brown! Brown eyes. Why?” she said laughing after she switched to another filter. Then finally she changed to a filter that shows off her natural face. “I think I’ll just stick to the ‘gram. Brown eyes are beautiful everyone.”
We’re glad to see Selena using social media more. For the most part, the Disney alum has remained low-key post-rehab. She first resurfaced when Taylor Swift posted a selfie of the actress and Cazzie David. “20wineteen,” Taylor captioned the photo of the trio drinking together.
Since then, the actress has been focused on spending time with her loved ones and working on new music. Just last week, she dropped “I Can’t Get Enough,” which she worked on with J Balvin, Benny Blanco and Tainy. Good for you, girl!
