Spooky Season Is Here! Selena Gomez Spotted Having Fun at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights

With Monday, September 23, being the first official day of fall, it’s time to say goodbye to the beach and hello to all things spooky and as it happens, Selena Gomez definitely agrees. The “Wolves” songstress, 27, was spotted having fun with friends at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights on Sunday, September 22.

That’s right, y’all, Selena skipped out on the glitz and glam of the 2019 Emmy Awards to hang with some monsters. To be honest, given how low-key the former Disney Channel star has been these days, we’re not entirely surprised to see that she opted for an amusement park over an A-list event.

That said, Selena’s hiatus from the spotlight is in no way an indicator of her well being! In fact, she’s doing better than ever. “She’s finally in a good place and happier than ever,” a source exclusively revealed to Life & Style

“Selena desperately wanted to be happy — and that’s why she took this latest treatment so seriously,” the insider continued, referring to Selena’s month-long rehab stay in October 2018.

“It hasn’t been easy, and she still sees a therapist regularly, but she’s managed to overcome many of her obstacles. She never wants to be in such a dark place again.” In addition to getting her mental health back in order, Selena is also working on a major career comeback.

Taking to Instagram on August 1, the brunette beauty shared a thoughtful post about her relaxing Italian vacation, along with a big reveal. “Sometimes I can’t express how truly grateful I am,” she wrote. “Now … back to work.” Considering Selena hasn’t released a studio album since Revival in 2015, her fans are *beyond* ecstatic.

Since Selena’s initial new music announcement, the pop star has been kind enough to give her diehard Selenators some updates. “Just so you know, I see your comments and I’m working on it,” Selena captioned some black-and-white studio snapshots.

As for what we can expect from the album? During a June 11 on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she explained that there will be a “strong sense of pop,” with some surprises.

“I definitely explored more with electric guitar. A lot of soulful tracks underneath things, acoustic guitar,” Selena added. “It all kind of hits different places that I feel is my lane for music. I just live in that world. Something that connects with people on an emotional level is my favorite.”

It’s our favorite, too, girl! We can’t wait to listen.
