Both have stayed quiet about their split on social media in the past few weeks, but now Shawn is getting candid with his followers about his breakup. Kaitlyn has still been her usual self on Instagram — posting videos and being silly. However, she has not said anything about her former fiancé.
The couple told People in a statement: “After three incredible years, we have decided to go our separate ways. This difficult decision comes after thoughtful, respectful consideration. Even though we are parting as a couple, we’re very much committed on remaining friends and we will continue to support each other. Due to the nature of how we met, our relationship has always been very public, and we have enjoyed sharing it with all of you, but we ask that you respect our decision and our privacy at this time.”
Unfortunately, insiders say that the split was inevitable. A source told E! News that the split was a “long time coming.” While another echoed, “Everyone was rooting for them but they truly grew apart when their lives got busy and couldn’t get back to where they were.”
For now, Shawn is focused on his gym in Nashville, TN, while Kaitlyn is recording new music. BRB, still crying over here.
