Taylor Swift Got All Worked Up Over a Banana Following Her Lasik Eye Surgery and It’s Hilarious
She’s one of us! Taylor Swift may be a celebrity who always keeps her cool, but that wasn’t the case when she was under medication after her Lasik eye surgery. The 29-year-old was definitely feeling the side effects after the “hard core pills” she took because she got very emotionally attached to a banana. Luckily, her mom, Andrea Swift, captured the entire thing on video and shared it with the world.
Taylor appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’s October 3 episode, and was surprised when the 45-year-old host asked her if she recently had lasik eye surgery. “I did! How do you know that?” the “Reputation” singer told him. “Do you take painkillers or something after that stuff? Do they give you like laughing gas or something?” Jimmy asked, which led to Taylor officially being freaked out since she hadn’t told anyone about the procedure. Then, Jimmy revealed that he had some never-before seen footage of her in her loopy state.
“Your mom may or may have not videotaped you after surgery, and she gave us the video,” the comedian said, trying to hold back from laughing. “This is a world premiere. Check this out. This is Taylor Swift post-surgery. You were like freaking out over a banana.”
In the hilarious clip, Taylor wore goggles with tape over her eyes and tried to get a single banana from the bunch. “That wasn’t the one I wanted,” an upset Taylor said to her mom, who asked her not to cry. After she picked the banana she wanted, the camera shifted over to a close-up of Taylor, who was lying in bed eating. “You can’t fall asleep eating a banana, OK?” her mom asked her. “I’m not asleep. My mind is alive,” the pop star reassured her. LOL.
Once the clip ended, Taylor looked mortified but laughed it off. We love that she has a great sense of humor! From there, Taylor confessed she will be performing “Lover,” on SNL on Saturday, October 5. In addition, she will also be singing another song from the album that she’s never performed live before. We can’t wait!
