Singer Taylor Swift had the perfect response after a driver crashed into the gates of her Rhode Island home. She took a line straight off her Reputation album and it surprisingly fit the situation very well. Although she’s been keeping things very lowkey on social media, we’re glad to see her resurface for a quick joke.

During the early morning of April 2, a stolen car with no license plates crashed into the gates of her beachfront property after a chase with police, according to multiple reports. Three of the four people in the car were taken to the hospital for “non-life-threatening injuries” while the other one tried to escape on foot but was later captured by police.  According to local news outlet WJAR, Taylor’s house took the brunt of the accident and the “gates were heavily damaged.”

Shockingly, the pop star, 29, wasn’t as rattled by the commotion as you might think. An Instagram fan page called Swiftutation posted about the news and the blonde beauty commented, “Nothing good starts in a getaway car,” with a shrugging emoji. We see what you did there, Tay!

It’s unclear if the “Gorgeous” singer was home at the time of the crash. She was last spotted on March 31 at the wrap party in London for her upcoming film Cats. She obviously could’ve flown back to Rhode Island right after but she’s been spending a lot of time across the pond because of work and her boyfriend, Joe Alwyn. They are absolutely adorable together and seem to make a great pair.

The 1989 songbird isn’t the only one smitten with her beau. “Her parents love Joe,” an insider told Us Weekly. The feeling is mutual because the source added that his “family adores her,” too. If they ever want to take things to the next level, “the two have everyone’s blessing.” Aw!

Lesson learned: Stay away from those getaway cars.
