Singer Taylor Swift revealed that the reason she’s taken extended breaks throughout the years is that she started feeling exhausted and overall just very “low.” The pop star got very candid during an interview on the Zach Sang Show on April 29 where she admitted that self-worth is something she’s always actively working on.

“There have been times where I needed to take years off because I just felt exhausted, or I felt like, really low or really bad,” the 29-year-old confessed to the host. The blonde beauty has kept a pretty consistent flow of releasing a record every two years. However, fans had to wait three years between 1989 in 2014 and 2017’s Reputation album. At that time, Taylor famously had her feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

Her new music video “ME!” shows the starlet stomping a snake into a swarm of butterflies, which could symbolize that she’s over the drama and looking ahead to brighter horizons. “I think one thing to always keep tabs on is the fact that we have to know that there is no ‘happily ever after’ where we’re just happy forever,” she explained. “Happiness is always going to be a struggle and a challenge we have to try and meet. Self-worth is always going to be something that it’s a process of trying to get there. That’s not naturally how we’re going to feel all the time.”

The Pennsylvania native hopes her new jam with Panic! at the Disco frontman, Brendon Urie, can help people get into a more positive mindset. “I think when we talk about being happy or loving yourself those are all things that we feel sometimes and maybe this song is a glimpse of that moment when we do feel like that,” she said. “When we’re having the best day, the sun is shining, it’s going to be an okay day, everything’s going to be good, I’m alright with myself.”

We’re loving the happy vibes, Tay!
