Teen Mom 2's Chelsea Houska's Dating History: Cole DeBoer, Adam Lind

She knows what she wants! Teen Mom 2 alum Chelsea DeBoer (née Houska) hit the relationship jackpot when she met her husband, Cole DeBoer — and he was only her second boyfriend.

The 16 and Pregnant alum and Cole first locked eyes at a gas station in 2014. “He was across at the other pump,” she told Us Weekly in 2015. “And I looked, and he was staring at me. We didn’t even talk. We just kept looking at each other because we’re both shy. And then we were passing each other when we left because we lived out toward the same way.”

Days later, the traffic control specialist found the beautician on social media and sent her a message. The rest, as they say, is history. The pair moved in together in July 2015, and four months later, Cole asked Chelsea’s daughter, Aubree Lind-DeBoer, for permission to propose to her mom. Chelsea shares her daughter with ex Adam Lind.

The happy couple wed in October 2016 during a small ceremony attended by their closest friends and family members. Chelsea and Cole welcomed their first child, son Watson, in January 2017. In August 2018, the proud mama gave birth to daughter Layne. Two years later, the reality star announced she and her husband were expecting baby No. 4.

“One more DeBoer! Coming early 2021,” she captioned an Instagram photo of a piece of wood featuring the names Cole, Chelsea, Aubree, Watson and Layne — and the word “Baby” written underneath them with a little heart. Days after announcing the MTV star was expecting, she revealed she was having a girl and shared photos from her sweet gender reveal party. On January 25, 2021, Chelsea gave birth to daughter Walker June DeBoer.

Before finding her Mr. Right in Cole, Chelsea dated Adam on and off during and after high school. She gave birth to Aubree during her senior year, which was her central storyline on 16 and Pregnant. The demise of Chelsea and Adam’s relationship was featured on seasons 1 and 2 of Teen Mom.

Adam has since floated in and out of Aubree’s life, as he struggled with legal issues and drug addiction, which prompted Cole to reveal on a February 2019 episode of Teen Mom that he wanted to adopt her “right now.”

Chelsea then left Teen Mom 2 in December 2020, but she still shared regular updates with fans via social media. In February 2022 she gave a rare update on Adam during an Instagram Live.

“I think he’s doing pretty good, the former reality star said in a screen recording that was posted to Reddit. “I don’t know because I don’t speak to him personally, but I have heard some good things, that he’s in a good place.”

She also updated viewers on Aubree’s relationship with her father, noting that their child was “not close with him.”

Cole DeBoer

Chelsea and Cole met in 2014 and wed by October 2016. They have three children together, son Watson and daughters Layne and Walker. He has supported his wife throughout a huge part of her reality TV journey, and in December 2020, he congratulated her after the pair revealed they would not be returning to the MTV series that has documented their lives for years.

“I am wanting to just congratulate my sweet perfect wife for being [a part] of a show about her life for such a long time and being able to have control and know what she truly wanted in life,” Cole captioned a photo of Chelsea on Instagram after her final episode of Teen Mom 2 aired in December 2020. “If you always watched from the beginning you will know how much s—t Chelsea has made it through, she is tough as nails, such a badass. Birthed our last child without even having a Tylenol. I look up to her.”

Adam Lind

Chelsea and Adam welcomed their daughter, Aubree, when she was a senior in high school on September 7, 2009. Aubree’s birth was documented on an episode of 16 and Pregnant in 2010, and Chelsea went on to star in the MTV spinoff Teen Mom 2 in January 2011. The first two seasons of Teen Mom 2 followed the ups and downs of their relationship leading up to their split. After that, Adam continued to appear on the show as they struggled to coparent their child. Adam quit the show in 2017, and Chelsea continued to share her journey until her departure in 2020.
Adam moved on romantically from Chelsea, as he later welcomed his second child, Paisley Mae Lind, with now-ex-fiancée Taylor Halbur in September 2013. After they split one year later, Adam went on to date his second ex-fiancée, Stasia Huber, whom he split from in 2017. Since they called it quits, it’s unclear whether he is currently in a relationship or single.

While Adam has struggled with substance abuse, he’s also had several run-ins with the law. His most recent was in March 2021, when an arrest warrant was issued for unpaid child support for Aubree, per The Sun. The warrant was originally issued on January 11, 2021, according to the outlet, which cited a demand for authorities to “arrest Adam Lind either in the daytime or in the nighttime.” The order stated he was entitled to be granted bail in the amount of a $2,000 cash bond at the time.
