The latest Hollywood feud is one for the books. Kylie Jenner and the World Record Egg are battling it out on Instagram and we’re really enjoying the ride. Here’s the break down: Kylie’s first picture of baby Stormi held the record for the most likes on Instagram…until now. A stock photo of an egg started circulating around begging for likes to beat out the current record held by Kylie, and it worked. Kylie responded to the egg by cracking one of its cousins in a video. It’s just about the greatest thing to happen to the internet in quite some time.
Stormi’s perfect little hand holding Kylie’s thumb on Feb. 6, 2018 received a whopping 18 million likes. For some context, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star’s pregnancy was the worst-kept secret of all time, but she did manage to stay out of the spotlight for about nine months. Not only was the photo the first glimpse of Kylie and Travis Scott‘s little bundle of joy, but it was also how fans learned her name.
What a beautiful and special moment on social media, right? Well, it turns out the brown egg makes fans feel some type of way. “Let’s set a world record together and get the most liked post on Instagram,” the World Record Egg account said in the caption. “Beating the current world record held by Kylie Jenner (18 million)! We got this.” The post was accompanied by “#LikeTheEgg” and “#EggGang.”
You can’t call this egg an omelet because it definitely wasn’t beat. The post is sitting pretty at almost 29 million likes. Kylie had a great sense of humor about the whole thing and shared a perfect response. She posted a video of herself breaking an egg with the title “Kylie when she sees the world record egg account.” The starlet captioned the video, “Take that little egg.”
