With Becca Kufrin's time as The Bachelorette starting to wind down, we're increasingly nervous about a surprise appearanced from fromer Bachelor star Arie Luyendyk, Jr. Becca promised he'd make an appearance on her season at some point so the two could have a "conversation," and it's clear they still have a lot to talk about after what happened between them. But what did exactly go down — and how? Yeah, it's all just as brutal as we remembered. Arie may have just been "following his heart," which is basically the whole point of the process, but you're supposed to do that at a point in the journey before you actually propose to the wrong girl. You know, so that way when you dump someone, they at least know it's part of the format of the show. Instead, Arie just briefly gave Becca the chance to plan actually marrying him and having kids with him and envisioning the next 40 years of their lives together, and then ripped it all away for a relationship he'd apparently disparaged plenty. Then again, anyone who had watched the show could've told you that Arie was over the moon for Lauren Burnham, no matter how shy she got on camera. And hey, at least the two seem pretty happy together now.
As for Becca, she's already admitted to getting engaged at the end of The Bachelorette, so it seems like there's a happy ending in her future, too. And girl deserves it after all the drama on her season so far. "It was the happiest moment of my life," she told People. "And it feels so good to say it. I still pinch myself, like, did that all just happen? It’s been a whirlwind." At least some good came out of all the messiness surrounding Garrett's Instagram likes scandal, Lincoln's hidden criminal past, and all the usual fighting that goes down.
