So, after what felt like the longest season ever, Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay got engaged to chiropractor Bryan Abasolo, and the reaction from fans was lackluster to say the least. But Twitter users aren’t the only ones questioning the 32-year-old’s decision.

“Rachel’s friends are worried that she’s just blinded by the ring and not really paying attention to the actual person she chose,” an insider exclusively tells Life & Style. “[Runner-up Peter Kraus] has all the qualities Rachel was looking for, and everybody thinks they would have been much better together.” Um, Bryan does have a weird attachment to his mother.

Despite Rachel and Peter’s obvious chemistry throughout the course of the show, the personal trainer couldn’t see himself proposing at the end, which led to the couple’s premature (and slightly awkward) breakup. Tensions between the duo grew even more uncomfortable when they were forced to come face-to-face on the After the Final Rose special.

Peter admitted he felt “attacked” by his ex after she referred to their last interaction as “really, really frustrating.” Rachel added, “I was confused in that moment. I didn’t understand how you could come that far … so I was confused as to why you were … planning this future with me.”

Even after their exchange, Bachelor Nation fans were overwhelmingly Team Peter, criticizing Rachel’s behavior towards him. “Rachel you literally had Dean and Peter in the same season but choose Bryan what kind of Josh Murray hell is this,” one person wrote, while another said, “When does Steve Harvey show up to tell us Peter really won?,” referring to the TV host’s infamous Miss Universe mix-up.
