Beauty and brains! Miss North Carolina Cheslie Kryst took the crown for Miss USA on Thursday, May 2. The 28-year-old pageant queen isn’t just drop dead gorgeous, she’s also super smart considering she is a full-time attorney, who helps prison inmates lessen their sentences for free.

According to her Miss USA bio, “She earned both her law degree and MBA from Wake Forest University and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree from the Honors College at the University of South Carolina.” Pretty impressive!

Evidently, the brunette beauty is well-informed on a range of topics. Before winning the competition, she expressed her gratitude for her generation and admitted she was glad the pageant was being held in Nevada due to its support for women in law.

“I would say that my generation is innovative,” she said in the final round of the competition. “I’m standing here in Nevada, in the state that has the first majority female legislature in this entire country. Mine is the first generation to have that forward-looking mind-set that has inclusivity, diversity, and strength and empowered women,” she continued. “I’m looking forward to continued progress with my generation.”

Besides law and beauty pageants, Cheslie has a handful of interests. One of them includes sports. “This 28-year-old is a former Division I athlete, having competed in the heptathlon, long jump and triple jump on South Carolina’s track and field team. Additionally, she sits top ten in the record books at South Carolina for the triple jump,” her bio stated.

Fashion is also important to her, and she successfully found a way on how to use her love for clothes to help women look their best. “Cheslie runs a fashion blog, ‘White Collar Glam,’ that focuses on workwear fashion for women. She is an active volunteer for Dress for Success and credits her achievements to her ability to learn from failure. We stan this queen. Congrats, Cheslie!
