Before ‘The Bachelor,’ Hannah B. And Caelynn Miller-Keyes Competed At Miss USA: Get The Scoop On Their Friendship
It’s truly a small world, especially when it comes to the people in Bachelor Nation. Our leading man, Colton Underwood, is just beginning his journey to find love on The Bachelor, but two of his contestants have already competed against each other before. The two beauty queens this season, Hannah Brown and Caelynn Miller-Keyes, went head-to-head this past year during the 2018 Miss USA pageant. Since they have a history, you may be wondering if Hannah B. and Caelynn are friends. Here’s the scoop!
Yes, these two ladies most certainly know each other. Not only are they familiar with each other from the pageant circuit, but the two gorgeous gals were actually roommates during Miss USA, a source close to both Caelynn and Hannah exclusively told Life & Style. “Of course they were a bit stressed out since it was Miss USA and you’re there for two weeks — it’s a lot of work, you’re tired…They’d just be like, ‘I’m exhausted but it’s going great,'” the source said about their time as roomies.
Caelynn represented North Carolina during the Miss USA pageant. She ended up being crowned as the runner-up after sharing her powerful story about surviving sexual assault and the work she does as an advocate for other victims and survivors. Hannah wore the Miss Alabama sash but didn’t manage to crack the top 15. However, it doesn’t seem like the two have any saltiness between them. “They supported each other during the whole thing,” the source continued. “Everyone handles it differently. It is a competition. There are girls who are going to be upset and some that are going to be jealous if one person placed and they didn’t, it’s just how it is.”
It seems like no one has anything bad to say about the beauty queens. “Hannah is super nice,” photographer Spencer Williams admitted to Life & Style magazine. As for Caelynn, her friend dished that the beauty queen is “just a sweet girl.”
Hannah explained to the Alabama News Center in May 2018 that her time as Miss Alabama made her a more understanding person because of her exposure to the spotlight. “My family has seen me grow significantly because of being in pageantry,” she said. “I have been able to talk to really anybody from all aspects of life. It has given me a lot of confidence in times when there is both positive and negative light shed on me.” Considering she and Caelynn come from the same sphere, it wouldn’t be surprising if they became even closer while in the Bachelor mansion.
Obviously, the pageant world did not divide these ladies, but who’s to say what will happen as they are competing for Colton’s heart?
