She can’t catch a break! Following the news that Ariana Grande canceled two of her shows in Florida due to illness, the “Monopoly” singer, 26, took to social media to reveal exactly what went down. “Update: we discovered … that … I had an unfortunate allergic reaction to tomatoes and my throat pretty much closed,” Ariana wrote on Instagram on Wednesday, May 29.

“Still feels like I’m swallowing a cactus, but slowly making progress!” she continued. “Thank [you] all for your love and understanding. Can’t wait to get back to performing and to make it up to Tampa and Orlando in November.” Ariana then added a sad, albeit funny, line about the cruel irony of her allergy. “There is NOTHING MORE UNFAIR THAN AN ITALIAN WOMAN DEVELOPING AN ALLERGY TO TOMATOES IN HER MID-TWENTIES.”

Girl, we are heartbroken for you! Pasta, pizza, salsa … the list of tomato-based delicacies is endless and Ariana deserves to eat them all without pain. Unsurprisingly, Ariana’s diehard fans, aptly named Arianators, flocked to her post to show their support, as did her close friends and family.

“I am so sorry, I am glad you have some humor to a serious and very unfortunate allergy! ‘Tomatoes to an Italian girl’ — I don’t know what I would do! Please feel better!!” commented designer Zac Posen. “[Damn], get better soon lil’ ma,” added rapper 2 Chainz.

“Feel better! We’ll see you in November,” one excited fan wrote. “Please, please, please rest baby girl. Don’t even worry about us! Take your time,” echoed another. As of now, Ariana’s Sweetener World Tour around the U.S. will continue as scheduled. Her next performance is on Friday, May 31, in Miami. Relax and avoid tomatoes until then, Ari!
