In a very dramatic turn, Colton Underwood literally jumps over a fence to escape his Bachelor duties leaving everyone, including Chris Harrison, shocked. We’ve been waiting all season for this moment since we first saw it in a teaser trailer at the beginning of the season, and, as of Week 7, it still hasn’t happened. Why did the former football player jump over the fence? ABC still hasn’t told us and fans are pissed.

As we’re inching closer to hometown dates, the pressure is getting more intense for the 26-year-old and the remaining contestants. Although he’s handled everything in stride, things are obviously starting to get to him a bit. With rumors swirling about some girls not being there for the right reasons, we think this drove him to wanting to escape.

One thing is for sure: Fans can’t wait to see Colton catch air. There’s even an entire Twitter page dedicated to the fence jumping moment.

One fan jokingly tweeted, “If it turns out the Colton jumps the fence for some normal reason (someone’s scarf blew away, there’s a cute dog on the other side, IDC) I will have no choice but to sue ABC for false advertising and psychological distress.” Reality Steve divulged details about the much-anticipated scene, keep reading to see more. Caution: Spoilers below!

Reality Steve reports that the fence jumping doesn’t come until Episode 9 after his overnight date with Cassie. The reality show sleuth explained that the blonde beauty abruptly leaves the show because she’s not ready to get engaged and Colton jumps the fence out of heartbreak.

Our leading man has raised more than a few eyebrows among Bachelor Nation because no one can predict what he’s going to do next. For example, he hasn’t actually said whether he’s engaged or not. “Of course, you want it to end in marriage, [but] it’s for a proposal,” the reality star told reporters on January 3. “It’s typical to fall in love, and to find your person, to spend time developing a relationship and spending time on a relationship and on your personal life. And that’s exactly what I did.”

He hasn’t been shy about admitting that he’s stayed true to himself throughout the journey. “I wanted to make sure that I did things my way, and I know that sounds sort of brutal to say, but because there has been a format to this show, and there has been success attached, for a reason, but everybody loves differently,” he confessed. “Everybody goes through this process differently, and I’m included in that.”

Hopefully, there won’t be much more fence jumping in Colton’s future. Next stop, hometowns!
