Unacceptable! When actor Ryan Reynolds made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show recently, he was super excited to talk about how fatherhood has changed him as a person, so… naturally, we’d think he and wife Blake Lively would be hitting it out of the park on the subject of baby number three. The couple is going as strong as ever, so another baby seems like a natural next step for them. Turns out the Deadpool star actually isn’t super keen on the idea of having a third baby, and we’re really not OK with it. In fact, Ryan, we’d like to have a talk.

On Dec. 4, Ryan appeared on Ellen to talk about his new Deadpool film, but the convo naturally migrated to his thoughts and feelings on fatherhood. The 42-year-old is now a father of two and though he said his kids have made him a “better person,” the star was adamant about pumping the breaks. Ryan quipped up with his natural wit after a joke about his kids where Ellen asked him, “So you [and Blake] have only had sex twice?”

Both of their senses of humor played off each other well as Ryan deadpanned back at Ellen. “Just two times, yeah. It’s a mercenary job, hoping for a third soon.” The audience picked up the hint and erupted into applause, to which Ryan met with a firm “No.”

At least we can say Ryan’s being realistic about parenthood, and he’s not just copping out of potential future babymaking just because. Parenting ain’t east! Even celebs know it. “It’s hard. It’s always a challenge, with two kids,” Ryan admitted. “I think of blinking now like tiny little breaks.” We’re sure most parents would probably feel similarly. Just like they’d also feel similarly about his love for being a dad. “It’s the dream. They’re like my buddies,” he revealed.

One thing more thing Ryan and most parents probably see eye-to-eye on? How annoying all those kids movies really get. “I have seen Frozen with my daughters so, so many times,” he lamented. “People don’t know this, a lot of people don’t know this, but if you actually watch Frozen backwards, it’s actually a shot for shot remake of The Exorcist. So that would obviously enrage a lot of parents.” Um, we’re DEAD.

We hope Ryan and Blake will change their minds and surprise us with another bundle of joy –– you never know what the future may bring. Never say never, y’all!
