After months of teasing with singles, Zayn Malik is officially back! Following the release of his single, “No Candle Light,” featuring Nicki Minaj two weeks ago, the 25-year-old just surprised fans with the ultimate gift. He not only released a new track but also announced a new album on the way.

On Friday, Nov. 30, the former One Direction member took to Instagram to let fans know his solo sophomore album, Icarus Falls, can be expected in just two weeks, on Dec. 14. The LP will include 27 songs. Yes, you read that correctly — 27! In this day and age where most artists are releasing 12 tracks or less on an album, the pop star is going against that norm and delivering hours worth of music for his fans.

Zayn took the opportunity to also promote his latest song, “Rainberry,” a sultry, catchy tune that shows off his falsetto capabilities. Of the 27 tracks, seven are already out, available to the public. Those include, “Let Me,” Sour Diesel,” Entertainer,” Rainberry,” “No Candle Light,” “Fingers, and “Too Much,” featuring Timbaland. That’s like an entire EP and we still have 20 songs left to listen to.

The boyband alum hasn’t released a new album since his 2016 debut, Mind of Mine, which featured hits like “Pillowtalk” and “Like I Would.” Mind of Mine came exactly one year after his departure from One Direction, which left the the then five-some to go on as a quartet. Since then, the band took a hiatus in March 2016 and followed in Zayn’s footsteps and branched out as solo artists. While the others have reached success with their respective solo music careers, Zayn is the first to officially announce a second album.

Based on his taste and music out so far, we can expect more Pop, R&B, and possibly hip-hop vibes from Icarus Falls. Last month, Zayn tweeted Cardi B letting her know he has a song she’d be a perfect fit for. We’re crossing our fingers this collab comes true!
