2021 CMA Awards Best and Worst Dressed Celebs: Red Carpet Photos

The best and worst dressed celebrities at the 2021 Country Music Awards definitely made a statement. Stars like Miranda Lambert, Mickey Guyton and more walked the CMAs red carpet in stunning fashions, while others had a bit of a wardrobe miss.

The 55th annual awards show, which took place on Wednesday, November 10, promised to be bigger than ever after the Country Music Association majorly scaled things down last year amid the coronavirus pandemic.

For country music’s biggest night, it’s only fitting that icon Luke Bryan was tapped as host for the glitzy show at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

“Being in front of the TV a lot with American Idol has gotten me more comfortable with the role of doing these things. I’m excited to be in the role and be confident in the role,” the “Knockin’ Boots” singer said about hosting the big show on November 8. “You don’t ever want to be out there and you’re so nervous and freaked out that you can’t do a great job, which I’ll still be nervous and freaked out.”

The “Play It Again” artist will also be performing during the show within the star-studded lineup. Also taking the stage will be Miranda, Eric Church, Gabby Barrett, Jimmie Allen, Luke Combs and more. Other performers include Jennifer Hudson, Keith Urban, Blake Shelton, Thomas Rhett and the Zac Brown Band.

It’s noted that Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean will be doing a “special collaboration” during the show in addition to other surprising duos and trios.

The star power isn’t stopping there. Some presenters that will make an appearance during the CMAs are American Idol judges Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, Trisha Yearwood, Susan Sarandon, Kelsea Ballerini and actor Zachary Levi.

Of course, there are tons of awards and accolades to give away. Eric Church and Chris Stapleton are the top nominees this year with five noms each, including Entertainer of the Year. Eric won the prestigious honor last year, but there are some tough contenders in the category, including Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood. Gabby Barrett isn’t too far behind with four nominations.

It’s always fun to see a star move out of their fashion comfort zone, but Carrie Underwood’s spiky metal gown was just so not her. It also looked horribly uncomfortable, so hopefully, the singer brought along a second dress to sit in her seat for the duration of the ceremony. She’ll be there for a long time, as she’s up for the coveted Entertainer of the Year award … which is traditionally the final award handed out.

Miranda has had such a red carpet glow-up over the past few years. She’s now choosing sleek yet sexy outfits, like the plunging black long-sleeved dress she wore to the 2021 CMAs. It featured a slight sweetheart neckline and a belted waist. And of course, she had the best accessory of all besides her pink clutch, as her hot husband, Brendan McLoughlin, posed with Miranda on the red carpet.
