Amy Schumer Says She’s Loving Her ‘Warm, Soft’ Body After Giving Birth to Gene: ‘Grateful to Be Feeling So Strong’
Self-love for the win! It’s been less than three months since Amy Schumer gave birth to her first child, Gene, and by the looks of it, she’s feeling herself.
The 38-year-old recently took to Instagram to share two family beach photos, which she captioned, “We’re good.” A fan took to the comments to compliment Amy on her beach bod, which was very well received by the comedian. “So beautiful. A normal woman’s body. You look great!” wrote the fan. “I am loving my warm, soft post-baby body. Grateful to be feeling so strong again!” replied the I Feel Pretty star. Yes, girl!
During her pregnancy, the blonde beauty often expressed the frustrations and struggles she faced for nine months. For instance, in February, she had to take a break from performing her stand-up shows due to her hyperemesis condition. “Due to complications from hyperemesis, I am not cleared to fly for the next couple of weeks. I am going to cancel the remainder of my tour. Refunds are available at point of purchase,” she began her detailed Instagram post. “The baby and I are healthy and everything looks good. But I am in my [third] trimester and I am still nauseous all the time and vomiting,” she wrote. “I vomit mostly every time I ride in a car even for [five] minutes.”
Thankfully, those days are long over. The actress welcomed her son with husband Chris Fischer on May 5 and has been on top of the world since. Her close friend Bridget Everett even seems to agree. “She’s doing great. She’s so happy,” the 47-year-old told Us Weekly at the Jacqueline Novak: Get On Your Knees opening night in New York City on July 22. “She’s so in love. I’ve never seen her like this. She’s just full of joy. And it’s such a great thing to see. She’s always happy, but this is another level.”
