Amy Schumer Shares an Adorable (And Hilarious!) Throwback Video of Baby Gene at ‘About a Week Old’
When it comes to mommy humor, nobody does it better than Amy Schumer. Even ahead of giving birth to her first son, Gene, in May, the longtime comedian, 38, was constantly cracking jokes about pregnancy. Thankfully, Amy is still keeping the laughs coming. On Sunday, December 8, the I Feel Pretty star took to Instagram to share an adorable and of course, hilarious throwback video of her little man.
“We are very honored and proud to have Growing nominated for Best Special for the [Critics’ Choice Awards]! He was about a week old. He has a face with a view,” Amy captioned a clip of herself rocking Gene to sleep while listening to “This Must Be The Place” by Talking Heads.

At one point in the video, Amy starts lactating through her bra — which, let’s be real, isn’t funny, but is totally the sort of thing she’s A-OK with embracing in public (or on the internet, for that matter). Naturally, plenty of Amy’s followers chimed in to share their congratulations and fawn over Gene.
Paris Hilton commented a heart-eyed emoji, while fellow comedian Ali Wong left Amy a hands up symbol. “OMG! Everything about this is not only woman power, but also MAMA power!!!” one fan gushed. “So incredibly sweet! I laughed so hard at your special, Growing! Congratulations,” added another.
As mentioned, this is hardly the first time Amy has gotten real about motherhood on Instagram. In fact, ahead of Halloween, the Trainwreck alum had the sweetest exchange with Amber Rose about post-pregnancy struggles. Basically, Amy posted a literal photo of a tugboat with the caption “I look alright in my costume?” along with the hashtag “baby weight.”
“Awww, it’s natural, sis! I still look like I’m six months pregnant,” Amber, who gave birth to her second child on October 10, assured her. Who doesn’t love a little bond moment between famous moms? Keep speaking your truth, Amy!
