Are Jay Cutler and political commentator Tomi Lahren dating? The internet was ablaze with rumors the unlikely pair have sparked up a romance on Thursday, September 3 — but the conservative talking head seemingly nipped that gossip in the bud.

“I love it when the internet tells me who I’m dating. Good one,” Tomi, 28, wrote on Twitter around 9:30 p.m., after the hearsay had time to spread. The following day, Jay shared a video of himself hanging out with a furry cow and wrote, “Only lady in my life. Be better internet,” seemingly also attempting to debunk the rumor.

The speculation started when the rumored flames were spotted “enjoying a nice night out together at Winners Bar in Nashville,” where they both live, on Friday, August 28.

“The two of them were having a lot of fun together at a table along with two other friends,” an insider told E! News about their supposed date. “Tomi and Jay were passing a bottle of tequila back and forth and taking shots together directly from the bottle.”

Plus, the pair left the bar “together,” according to the source. However, a second source told the outlet Jay and Tomi are “just friends” — so it remains to be seen if the dynamic duo crosses into romance territory or not.

It would make sense to see the two celebs link up, considering they’ve both just gotten out of longterm relationships. Jay and his ex Kristin Cavallari announced their split in April 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage.

“With great sadness, after 10 years together, we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce,” The Hills alum wrote on Instagram at the time. “We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of. This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family.”

Tomi ended her engagement to soccer player Brandon Fricke the same month. She told People marriage “just wasn’t in the cards” for the former couple in a statement. Just before her split, the South Dakota native revealed she was making the move to Nashville, so it seems the music capital of the world has brought Jay and Tomi together — as friends or otherwise.
