When it comes to celebrity breakups in 2019, Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott calling it quits has definitely hit us the hardest. After all, if a power couple like them can’t make it … there’s no hope for the rest of us! Despite the KUWTK star, 22, and “SICKO MODE” rapper, 28, being committed coparents to their daughter, Stormi Webster, they have yet to give their romantic relationship another shot.
“Kylie and Travis are still not back together,” a source revealed to Us Weekly on Monday, October 28. “It doesn’t look like they will immediately reconcile anymore. They have differing objectives and two different lives.”
Sigh. Given how upset Kylie’s family was over the pair’s split, we suspect they aren’t too pleased about this! “Everyone is hoping that it’s just temporary,” a source told In Touch in early October. “I know that Kris [Jenner] loves Travis, and she would have told Kylie not to do anything drastic. But if you piss Kylie off enough, she’ll say and do things to get back at you, and Travis isn’t one to stand around and take it.”
As it happens, Kris, 63, isn’t the only member of the famous bunch on #TeamTravis. “Kim, Kourtney and Khloé [Kardashian] love Travis too. Hopefully, this is just as they say, a break, and nothing more,” the insider noted. The question is, does taking a break actually work? We know it did for Ross Gellar and Rachel Green but, ahem, that’s just TV!
“In general, couples go ‘on a break’ or ‘separate’ when they don’t want to break up but have a significant unresolved issue that is causing distress and pain in the relationship,” Dr. Cortney S. Warren, a clinical psychologist and former associate professor of psychology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, exclusively explained to Life & Style.
“Whether a separation leads to getting back together or a splitting for good depends highly on the couple. If the break is done honestly with transparency and good intentions, the information learned will likely lead to a clear answer,” Dr. Warren said. “Whether that answer is the stay together or move apart depends on what is learned. That said, if done well, a break can lead both people in the partnership to a better life independent of the outcome.”
Here’s hoping that’s very much the case for Kylie and Travis!
