A$AP Rocky Says He and Rihanna Were ‘Cooking Up’ Baby No. 3 Before Her Met Gaga Pregnancy Reveal
A$AP Rocky and Rihanna’s baby No. 3 pregnancy reveal was a long time coming.
“It feels amazing, you know,” the rapper, 36, told reporters at the 2025 Met Gala ahead of Rihanna’s arrival on Monday, May 5. “It’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up. And I’m glad everybody’s happy for us, ’cause we definitely happy, you know.”
A$AP (real name: Rakim Mayers) gushed about becoming a father for the third time shortly after the “Umbrella” hitmaker, 37, revealed her baby bump in rainy New York City photos taken by photographer Miles Diggs and shared on Instagram. Rihanna sported a powder blue ensemble in the snaps, consisting of a long-sleeved T-shirt that was slightly cropped to show off her belly, a matching skirt and knee-high boots. She accessorized with a black hat and diamond jewelry.
The expectant mom, who also shares sons RZA Athelston Mayers, 2, and Riot Rose Mayers, 21 months, with A$AP, later joined her boyfriend at the Met Gala in a different outfit. She arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City wearing a suit-inspired black and gray pinstripe dress designed by Marc Jacobs with a cropped jacket and a small polka dot tie. Rihanna completed the look with a large black hat.
Meanwhile, A$AP, who served as one of the cochairs of the event, wore a black structured suit.
While Rihanna didn’t discuss her pregnancy at the Met Gala, she previously opened up about having more kids during a conversation with Interview magazine in August 2024.
“How many more kids do you want?” the interviewer asked.
“As many as god wants me to have,” Rihanna replied. “I don’t know what god wants, but I would go for more than two. I would try for my girl. But of course, if it’s another boy, it’s another boy.”
Rihanna and A$AP confirmed her pregnancy with RZA in January 2022, and the couple welcomed their first child that May. However, they waited until their son’s first birthday to reveal his name to the world.
Rihanna later announced her second pregnancy in a grand reveal at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in February 2023. She and A$AP welcomed Riot in August 2023.
A source exclusively told Life & Style back in August 2024 that Rihanna and A$AP had been working on adding baby No. 3 to the family while they were on vacation in the Bahamas.
“Rihanna turned 36 this year and she’d love to have more kids,” the insider said. “She wants to do it the natural way, not with IVF or anything like that, so there’s no time to waste and she knows it.”
The source continued, “Her youngest is a year old now, so she’s ready to take on another pregnancy, and of course, it’s no secret she’d love to have a little girl, so that’s part of the push to try again.”
With that said, the source added of the couple, who started dating in late 2019, “She and Rocky aren’t putting pressure on anything. They’re in love and enjoying their time together and not under any deadline.”
