‘Bachelor’ Star Jasmine Nguyen Did Not Mean to ‘Mislead’ Fans About Relationship With Alexa Caves
Bachelor star Jasmine Nguyen didn’t mean to “mislead people” with her friendship with fellow contestant Alexa Caves, she exclusively tells Life & Style. The two beauties from Peter Weber‘s season fueled romance rumors after sharing that they “found love” post-show. They have since denied that they are dating, but Jasmine notes that they both want to be “genuine” with fans.
“When I posted that picture and caption I wasn’t thinking much into it,” explains the Houston native, 25. “I’m guessing since Alexa has come out as sexually fluid that fans grabbed onto that in a way that neither of us expected.”
Alexa, 27, released a statement about the status of their relationship on March 3 and also confirmed that they are platonic. “We don’t want to mislead anyone. Jay and I are not dating,” the star wrote on her Instagram Story. “She’s one of my best friends. I’m sorry to get your hopes up! That would be a great story.”
The Chicago-based esthetician divulged that she addressed the topic because it didn’t seem like it was going to “blow over.” However, there is definitely a lot of admiration between the new besties. “Jay is beautiful, kind, down to earth and also very straight. Here’s to our friendship,” Alexa concluded her statement with a clinking glasses emoji.
Rumors first started on March 1 when Jasmine shared a photo of the two ladies holding hands on Instagram with the caption, “Spoiler: We did find love after all.” Fans were very here for the idea of two contestants striking up a relationship after filming.
“Please tell me you’re actually dating because that would make this whole season worth it,” one comment read. “If you guys are actually dating, this would easily be the best thing to come out of Peter’s season!” someone else wrote. “I can’t tell if this is a joke or not, but if it isn’t, I’m so happy,” another follower gushed.
Bachelor in Paradise alum Clay Harbor also hinted at romance rumors via Instagram Stories. The former football player shared a photo of the ladies and wrote, “My favorite #BachelorNation couple.”
The pair may be *just* friends, but we are still head-over-heels for their (platonic) love!
