And new baby makes five! Ryan Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, announced their pregnancy at the NYC premiere of his new movie Detective Pikachu on May 2 and hearts everywhere were properly warmed. The longtime couple are already Mom and Dad to two sweet babes, so it looks like the Reynolds fam is in for a pretty “lively” year with baby No. 3. Scroll through the gallery to see photos of the proud parents take the red carpet and announce their impending arrival.
Whoa, mama! Check out that beautiful belly. The 31-year-old starlet took to the carpet to share her baby bump with the world, but her and her husband had a plan for their announcement.

According to an insider who spoke with Life & Style exclusively about the premiere, Blake didn’t come out to the carpet until her perfect moment — seemingly a set-up for the announcement.

Considering the 42-year-old dad told Ellen DeGeneres back in December 2018 that he wasn’t really in the place for more children with his wife, this is a bit unexpected (but also exciting) news.

In the live interview, he said his kids have made him a “better person,” but he was still pretty adamant about tapping out.

Ryan quipped up with his natural wit after a joke about his kids where Ellen asked him, “So you [and Blake] have only had sex twice?” to which the comedian replied, “Just two times, yeah. It’s a mercenary job, hoping for a third soon.”

The crowd totally erupted in applause over that comment, but Ryan met the audience with a pretty firm “No” on the subject after their encouragement.

At the time, he felt like his plate was already full with his two daughters, James, 4, and Inez, 2. “It’s hard. It’s always a challenge, with two kids,” Ryan admitted. “I think of blinking now like tiny little breaks.”

LOL, never one to miss a joke, huh, Ry? We imagine parenthood has made him even funnier behind closed doors than he is on screen — parenting tends to have that effect.

Ultimately, though, Ryan couldn’t stop gushing about how rewarding the experience has been for him. “It’s the dream. They’re like my buddies,” he said.

On that note, it looks like the Reynolds family has officially changed their stance! Congratulations on baby No. 3, you two.
