2 Stylists Share Their Favorite Celebrity-Inspired Shoe Trends for Fall

Just like the seasons that are changing, our style begins to shift as we roll into fall. Of course, we’re not ready for snow boots quite yet. Two stylists exclusively dished their favorite celebrity-inspired shoe trends for fall and they’re so on point. From chunkier heels to super sexy sandals, there’s a little mix of everything for whatever suits your style.

Chunky Heel

Stylist Andrew Gelwicks, who has worked with stars like Catherine O’Hara and Josie Canseco, is all “a big fan” of this trend. “The chunky heel is having a big moment right now. We’re seeing a lot of great styles pop up in new collections that feel fun, sophisticated and simple,” he explained while noting that Stuart Weitzman’s Laney pump is one of his favorites.

Loafers — Of All Varieties

It’s hard to deny the wearability of a loafer. Right now, they are extremely trendy — plus it helps that they are functional and usually quite comfortable. Dani Michelle, a celeb stylist who has worked with Kourtney Kardashian and Marren Morris, gushed over their versatility. “Perfect for the anti-heel wearers, this style goes perfect with trousers and midi hemlines too,” she said. A specific loafer she loves is this adorable black-and-white pair from Celine.

On the other end of the spectrum, Andrew noted that “a lot of designers are putting their interpretation of the platform loafer on the market.” Basically, it’s the look you love with a little upgrade. “I think it’s a really fun alternative to the traditional heel, especially for workwear. They give your outfit a little more of a personality, while still giving you height,” he acknowledged. “Depending on the brand, they tend to be more comfortable than a stiletto as well.” At the moment, he’s digging the Aretha Bit Platform Loafer from Sam Edelman.

Square Toe

“A 90’s trend that is here to stay — in 2019 things are going square,” Dani dished about shoes with square toes, which are going to be huge this season. Now, that’s a throwback we can all get behind. We love how it adds a touch of interest and uniqueness, like these Bottega Veneta mules recommended by Dani.

Barely There Sandals

Yes, the weather is getting cooler but we still have some precious time left to flaunt our new pedicures. Dani named a slinky black pair of Gianvito Rossi shoes the “year’s sexiest sandals, thanks to their minimalistic foot baring silhouettes.” Celebs are trying skimpy footwear with everything from jeans to midi skirts and everything in-between.

Stay tuned for one gorgeous (fashion) season!
