Changed his tune? Former Bachelorette contestant Dean Unglert once said all relationships from the franchise are “fake,” but he seems to be a believer now. This comes on the heels of rumors [SPOILER!] that he found love with Caelynn Miller-Keyes on Bachelor in Paradise, but the stud is keeping his lips sealed about his romantic status. He dished during the July 16 episode of his podcast “Help! I Suck at Dating” with Jared Haibon and Vanessa Grimaldi that he had a whole new outlook going into the new season and even abstained from alcohol while he was there.

“I’m not saying whether I am in a relationship now or I’m not, but I went on the show with zero intention to leave the show in a relationship,” the 28-year-old reality star explained. “Almost actually fighting it, to leave in a relationship.” While our first question is why he would even bother going to Paradise to begin with, we’ll let that slide in the hopes that he found love. “I put my foot in my mouth every chance I possibly get. I probably will do it many, many, many more times.” One major change Dean made for his fourth run in the franchise is that he “stayed completely sober the entire time.”

Dean left Bachelor Winter Games in a relationship with Lesley Murphy but things fizzled out after about four months together. “None of these Bachelor relationships are real, not a single one of them. … Maybe you’ve got some marriages and some kids and those ones are real, but every one of them’s fake and contrived and I’m not into that,” the former contestant from Rachel Lindsay‘s season ranted to Access in January. “Granted, there are some that are real, like those ones I guess, but boyfriend-girlfriend relationships, every single one of them is fake.”

Looking back on those previous comments, Dean admitted that he wasn’t in the best frame of mind at the time. “I think that was coming off a heated moment and I learned some things I didn’t like. I was beside myself and I was upset; I was venting and I was being extreme and radical because of those things,” he explained during the podcast. The reality babe even gushed that he thinks this will be the “best season” of Paradise ever.

We hope Dean is right!
