It looks like Demi Lovato will be dropping music sooner than we think! The 26-year-old took to her Instagram on Tuesday, June 25, to gush over her album making process, and we can already tell it’s gonna be filled with bops.

“You know what’s great about making an album?” she wrote on her Instagram story. “You get to say anything you want, be as open and honest as possible and finally tell your side of the story regardless of who might not like it.” Demi is not here to play!

It’s been a whirlwind of a year for the “Sorry Not Sorry” crooner. In July 2018, she suffered an overdose and was hospitalized. Shortly after, she spent three months in rehab. Early on in her recovery, Demi started dating Henri Levy, but they called it quits after four months. Since then, the Disney alum has been focusing on her career. In May, she revealed she will be working alongside Scooter Braun, who manages other class acts like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.

“GUYS!!!!!!! Dreams came true today for me. I officially have a NEW MANAGER!!! And not just any new manager but the one and only @scooterbraun!!!!” she captioned an Insta photo with him. “Couldn’t be happier, inspired and excited to begin this next chapter with you Scooter!!! Thank you for believing in me and for being apart of this new journey. Let’s DO THIS!!!!!!” A little over a month after sharing the exciting news, Demi shared a selfie taken in the studio and wrote, “making magic” as the caption. We sure that’s exactly what she’s doing.

It’s been nearly two years since Demi released an album. She dropped Tell Me You Love Me in September 2017 and documented the process of making music on her YouTube documentary Simply Complicated. The doc also showcased a very vulnerable side of the musician, who openly spoke about her drug addiction as a teenager and her eating disorder struggles. Clearly, she never holds back, so, we can tell her upcoming music will be super personal. We can’t wait!
