Fans Think Kelly Clarkson Was ‘Flirting’ With Talk Show Guest 50 Cent: ‘She’s Crushing So Hard’

Kelly Clarkson and 50 Cent sitting in a tree! Fans of the American Idol winner are shipping her with the rapper after seeing their seemingly flirty interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

A fan shared clips from 50 Cent’s Wednesday, December 11, appearance on the talk show via TikTok. During the interview, Kelly, 42, stood up and playfully smacked the Den of Thieves actor, 49, on the arm after he told her that she was “really, incredibly smart.” She appeared to become flustered at other moments during their chat, and plenty of social media users noticed.

“Is it just me or are they flirting?” one user asked, while another person wrote, “Wait aren’t they both single? This is cute.”

“She’s crushing SO HARD!!!!” a third fan added.

Many people noticed that Kelly’s southern accent appeared to come out more prominently when she seemed to get nervous while talking to 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III.

“She is SO charmed by him. My southern accent comes out JUST like that when I’m enthralled with someone,” one person commented.

“I just need them to date. Because like, it’s there. Clearly, all of it,” another fan wrote.

While 50 Cent and Kelly are both single right now, they’re also both cherishing the independent life. The “In Da Club” hitmaker opened up about his decision to be celibate and why he’s never been married during a September appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

“Listen, when you calm down you can focus. I’ve been good to me. … I am safe. I’m not a happy hostage. I’m here. I’m free. I made some mistakes, just not that one,” he said.

Kelly, on the other hand, finalized her divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock in March 2022. She made a major life change in the summer of 2023 by moving herself and her kids, River Rose and Remington Alexander, to New York City, and the “Stronger” singer has made it clear that she’s focusing on family right now.

“I am really loving not having a man in my life,” she said on The Kelly Clarkson Show in March. “Like, it’s just too hard. There’s too much. It’s too much.”

She continued, “There’s all the jobs. Plus the kids. Plus being present for the kids while you’re there. ‘Cause sometimes we get, people will still email you. And I’m like, ‘No, no, no, we’re home now.’”

However, that hasn’t stopped people from trying to get Kelly back into the dating game. In the past, fans have shipped her with fellow artists like Teddy Swims and Brett Eldredge. A source also exclusively told Life & Style in September that her close friends Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are trying to play Cupid.

“They know a lot of eligible men in the music world, both in Nashville and New York, where Kelly shoots her talk show and spends a lot of her time,” the insider said. “They hate to think of Kelly spending the prime of her life alone.”

The source added that Kelly “insists she’s fine and that she has her friends and her kids, but no one really believes that.”

Married couple Garth, 62, and Trisha, 60, “aren’t being pushy about it,” the insider concluded, but “they’re letting Kelly know the offer is there. They want her to be as happy as they are!”
