Congrats are in order for Hilary Duff and longtime boyfriend Matthew Koma — these two lovebirds got married in the backyard of their Los Angeles home on December 21! Needless to say, the small ceremony was perfect for the couple of over two years.

“The wedding was at her house. It was small and low-key. Only family and close friends,” a source told PEOPLE of the intimate event. “The ceremony started at sunset and they got married inside the house. When the ceremony was over, guests cheered. The reception was in a white tent in the backyard,” the source adds. “Her sister, Haylie [Duff], was very involved in the wedding prep too. Hilary and Haylie are very close.”

Even the Lizzie McGuire star’s stylist and friend Jessica Paster teased the nuptials the same day with a sweet and subtle Instagram post of a bouquet of flowers. “Winter solstice … a day of luv [sic],” she captioned the dreamy pic, adding heart, flower, snowman and butterfly emojis.

Hilary, 32, and Matthew, 35, got engaged back in May, less than a year after the happy couple announced their pregnancy with daughter Banks in June 2018. “Guess what guys! @matthewkoma and I made a little princess of our own and we couldn’t be more excited!!!!!” she captioned a photo of her soon-to-be hubby kissing her cheek as she showed off her baby bump on Instagram.

They welcomed their little girl in October 2018. The blonde beauty is also mom to 7-year-old son Luca, whom she shares with ex-husband Mike Comrie.

Clearly, taking the wedding plunge is just the culmination of years of love and affection between Hilary and Matthew. In fact, in June, the pop singer shouted out her man for his birthday and the post was full of sweetness.

“Babe, remember when we had a baby and didn’t sleep for 3 1/2 months. I could only survive that with you! You make [every day] the funniest, comfiest adventure!” she captioned the celebratory post. “My best friend … I love you beyond. Happy birthday! 35! Feel alive,” she concluded, even adding a kissy face emoji.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
