January Jones Confirms She Dated ‘Bachelor’ Star Nick Viall After His Engagement to Vanessa Grimaldi
Did they or didn’t they? January Jones finally confirmed on January 13 that she briefly dated Bachelor Nation alum Nick Viall after his engagement to Vanessa Grimaldi ended. The actress revealed details about the reality stud sliding into her DMs on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast. Surprisingly, January — who is a massive Bachelor fan — was talking poorly about Nick during interviews, which inspired him to reach out and clear the air.
“Then Nick slid into my DMs, and he’s like, ‘I’m so sorry that your perception of me is so negative. I’d love to take you out to coffee and see if I can change your mind.’ And I squealed!” the 42-year-old hilariously recounted. “I was like, ‘Oh, my God.’ … I was like, ‘I hate that guy!’”
The two are very chummy now, but after Nick’s run as the Bachelor in 2017, the blonde beauty went on The Late Late Show With James Corden in January 2018 and blasted the Wisconsin native. At the time, Nick had just split from his fiancée five months prior in August 2017. The actress said that Nick was a “scumbag but that’s why I’m attracted to him, maybe.”
January had her doubts but wanted to find out what it was like to date the leading man. “My sister’s like, ‘If you don’t go, you will forever regret it.’ So I agreed to go on a date with him — or to drinks or whatever — and as I met him, I was rounding the corner, and I saw him, and he has this very distinct walk, and I had this instinct to run up to him and wrap my legs around his waist — you know, like they do? I stopped myself,” she continued.
It’s not surprising that she found herself a bit interested. “He was cast as the quote-unquote ‘villain,’ but he was actually … he had a bit of a brain, you know?” So there was something else there,” she noted. All in all, her outing with Nick sounded like every fan’s dream. “All I did was grill him about the show,” she said on the podcast. “We went on a couple dates and then … yeah.”
Eventually, things fizzled out because the reality franchise was all they “were really talking about.” Things didn’t work out romantically but on the bright side, January “got a lot of juicy insights.”
All is fair in love and Bachelor, right?
