It seems like Jenna Dewan and Steve Kazee just started dating, but they recently celebrated the *one-year* anniversary of adopting their adorable pet dog together. The fact that they share a pet also leads to the assumption that they live together — although they have not confirmed this — and we are over-the-moon that the actress is in such a happy relationship. The Broadway stud gushed on Instagram about their sweet pup and encouraged others to go to their local shelter to find a pet.

“[The Ellen DeGeneres Show] is right! @wagmorpets is awesome! This time last year [Jenna Dewan] and I adopted this little fella Cosmo into our family,” the 43-year-old actor wrote on Instagram on September 19. Please note how he called them “family.” *Single tear rolls down cheek.* “There are so many wonderful resources out there for finding lifetime homes for animals in need. The next time you are looking for a new furever friend remember to adopt not shop!”

Jenna, 38, hilariously commented on her beau’s heartfelt post and wrote, “Awwwwwwwwwww. Back when he fooled us and we thought he was chill.”

It’s great to see the World of Dance star let a new furry friend into her life after the death of her beloved dog Lulu in December 2018. “To our sweet and fierce Lulu … thank you for being the best dog in the entire world and for fighting cancer for as long as you did,” she wrote on Instagram at the time to mourn her precious pet. “Thank you for your tireless love, protection and humor. Thank you for the adventures. Heartbroken doesn’t even come close to how it feels. But you will live on forever in our hearts and our memories … fly sweet angel.”

When news broke about Lulu’s passing, she and Steve had publicly been together for just a few months but that didn’t stop him from posting his condolences. “The past few days haven’t been easy, but losing a fur friend never is. There have been tears of sorrow, tears of joy, laughter, longing, and every emotion in-between. Today, though … today was a good day,” the stud wrote on Instagram with a photo of the two hiking at sunset. The sweet post definitely scored brownie points with fans, who were happy that Jenna found such a supportive guy after her divorce from Channing Tatum — whom she still coparents their daughter, Everly, with.

Nothing fills your heart like a pet, just ask Jenna and Steve!
