“Junk food in the beginning,” the Gracefully You author, 39, told Life & Style and other reporters at FOX’s Winter All-Star Party during Television Critics’ Association Winter Press Tour.
More specifically, Jenna had a hankering for “fast food,” but nothing conventional like McDonald’s. In fact, the longtime dancer said she wouldn’t let herself have it. “It was El Pollo Loco bean burrito,” Jenna revealed, adding that she has a “lifetime card” at the Mexican-style eatery in California.
“I [had] Steve running me around the Valley a few times to take me to El Pollo Loco. Then, halfway through the pregnancy, I couldn’t even smell it,” she recalled. “It was done and now, it’s not a lot of space, so it’s just small fruits, sweet, tart stuff. Lemonade is the best thing I’ve ever had in my entire life.”
The Step Up alum went on to explain that her cravings with baby No. 2 are much different than with her daughter, Everly, whom she shares with ex-husband Channing Tatum. “With Everly, I craved really healthy stuff like grapefruit,” Jenna said. “With this baby, not so much.”
Even with her newly minted aversion to bean burritos, Jenna is thriving. “I’m one of those people that actually really enjoys being pregnant,” she gushed. The sweetest part? Everly, 6, is definitely ready to have a sibling!
“She asked me if the baby cried [at] night, could [she] get out of her bed and go sing the baby a song?” Jenna recollected. “And I was like, ‘That is so sweet.’ So, she’s already preparing herself and she’s excited. She’s old enough to understand that she’s going to have responsibilities and she’s a big sister. She’s taking it very seriously.”
Congratulations again, Jenna, Steve and Everly! We can’t meet to watch your family grow (and hopefully, eat El Pollo Loco together).
