Jessica Alba and Jessica Simpson Bond During ‘Girls Nights’ Amid Respective Splits From Their Husbands
Jessica Alba has a rock solid friendship with Jessica Simpson that dates back years, and they’re bonding more than ever right now whilst each facing down the barrel of messy separations
“It’s a very sad and hard time for both of them right now as they grapple with everything so having each other to lean on has been something of a saving grace,” an insider exclusively explains to Life & Style. “As you can imagine things have been rocky in both their marriages for a while, this isn’t something that’s suddenly come on for either of them, so they’ve needed friends to talk about this with.”
The source shares that both Jessicas “have plenty of support and confidants, but having someone that’s going through it at the same time is especially helpful.”
“Simpson has always looked up to Alba, she thinks she’s just amazing, so she really appreciated being able to go to her for advice,” Life & Style’s insider continues of the “With You” singer, 44. “She’s still making her own mind up and making her own choices, but having Alba as a sounding board has been great. They live near each other so they can get together for walks and lunches and lately they’ve been having some fun sleepovers too.”
The insider dishes that the Honey actress, 43, and Dukes of Hazzard star aren’t going to stay at home amid their divorces. In fact, they’re going to “dip their toes back in the social scene [and] you can expect some girls nights out, too.”
Both Jessicas started 2025 off fresh by calling it quits on their respective marriages.
On January 8, TMZ reported that Alba and estranged husband Cash Warren separated and are planning to officially file for divorce after 16 years of marriage. The pair sparked split rumors one month prior when they were both spotted without their wedding rings on separate occasions.
“They’re being very honest about their feelings, and why it’s the right time to move on. No one is placing blame; it’s basically a matter of growing apart,” a second insider told Life & Style on January 10. “Alba and Cash aren’t bitter, they still like each other and plan on staying cordial.”
The Fantastic Four actress later confirmed the news via Instagram and assured her fans that she and Cash, 46, ended their marriage with accepting hearts.
“I’ve been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years – both as an individual and in partnership with Cash,” Alba captioned the January 16 post. “I’m proud of how we’ve grown in our marriage over the last 20 years and it’s now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals.”
Alba and Cash share three kids — daughter Honor, 16, daughter Haven, 13 and son Hayes, 7.
Meanwhile, Simpson confirmed she and estranged husband Eric Johnson separated after 10 years of marriage on January 13.
“Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” the former pop star told People in a statement. “Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”
Simpson and Eric, 45, share daughter Maxwell, 12, son Ace, 11, and daughter Birdie, 5.
Although the former couple has yet to file for divorce, the news of their rocky marriage didn’t take fans by surprise. Near the end of 2024, the “Irresistible” singer made public appearances without her wedding ring on her finger. Her social media posts supported fan theories that she and Eric were headed for a divorce, and sources revealed to Life & Style the marital issues they were experiencing that ultimately led to their split.
“Jessica and Eric have been butting heads and living separate lives for an extremely long time,” a source close to the pair exclusively told Life & Style in November 2024. “They have a ton of unresolved issues in the marriage that have been simmering for years and now seem to be reaching a boiling point.”
As for Simpson and Alba’s friendship, it’s seemingly been solid over the years. In fact, Simpson attended Alba’s 41st birthday party in 2022 alongside sister Ashlee Simpson Ross and brother-in-law Evan Ross.
