If you’re a Real Housewives of New York fan, you know Bethenny Frankel has been going through it lately. Over the last year or so, the Bravo TV vet has dealt with enough strife and inner (not to mention outer) turmoil to last a lifetime — and the struggle has even bled into this season of the show. Life & Style caught up with RHONY alum Jill Zarin exclusively at the Broadway opening night of Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations and she gave us her predictions about whether or not her former friend might leave the reality tv world … again.

“I think Bethenny’s going to do whatever Bethenny wants to do,” the 55-year-old explained. “She’s a very smart girl.”

If there’s anyone who knows the 48-year-old entrepreneur and how she’s all about doing her own thing, it’s Jill. Years back, in the early days of RHONY, it was just that type of attitude that drove a wedge between the one-time BFFs and caused them to close the book on their friendship.

But fast forward to the present and there’s so much that could drive a girl to just cut off contact from the public eye — and TBH, we commend Bethenny for not just completely shutting down.

The Skinnygirl CEO has been dealing with a rigorous and draining custody battle with her ex-husband, Jason Hoppy, and she’s also had several bouts of near-fatal fish allergy incidents, which she has been vocal about on social media.

But possibly the most devastating of everything that’s gone on in Bethenny’s life recently was when her on-again, off-again boyfriend Dennis Shields passed away over the summer. Rumor has it that there will be a scene this season where Jill reportedly supports Bethenny through her rough patch over Dennis, just as the mogul did for Jill when her husband, Bobby Zarin, died of cancer last year.

We really hope to see these two connecting again, even though it isn’t on the happiest of terms. It just goes to show that the bonds of true friendship never really go away.
