In addition to acting and professional wrestling, it looks like John Cena has also mastered the art of the subtweet. On Wednesday, April 10 — shortly after his ex-fiancee, Nikki Bella, reacted to his PDA pictures on her podcast — the WWE powerhouse, 41, shared a cryptic message about love.

“Instead of trying to find the right person, try to be the right person. Get to a point where you love yourself, and you might be surprised at the company you choose to keep,” he wrote. *Pauses to sip to tea.* To be honest, the tweet is hardly malicious, but it does seem as though John is directly reacting to Nikki’s comments on “The Bellas Podcast.”

“This is actually kinda hard to talk about for me,” the 35-year-old began alongside her twin sister, Brie Bella. “You all have seen John’s paparazzi pics. He was spotted with a new mystery woman,” she continued. “When I saw the headline, it was [texted] to me by a few people. my stomach went into knots. When I saw the photo, it was weird.”

The brunette beauty added, “Girls and guys, we can all talk about this. When you get a text or a photo, you know how you get those knots in your stomach. You want to s—t [your] pants immediately or you have the craziest tummy ache. So neither of those happened to me.”

Nikki then went on to explain that while she and John have been broken up for quite some time, it’s still an uphill battle to move on. “It’s been tough. If you only know how much therapy I’ve been in. Weekly. There’s a lot that we don’t talk about why we broke up that we’re working on and making each other even better people.”

Hmmm, that sounds a lot like John’s message about self-love and being “the right person,” don’t you think? Nikki concluded, “I am very happy for him. As long as John is happy, I’m happy. But let me tell you, she breaks his heart? Wow. I will rack attack her in a heartbeat. I’m still protective of that man.”

We wonder how Nikki’s new beau, Artem Chigvintsev, feels about her admission. Here’s hoping he’s understanding. Love and relationships are complicated, y’all.
