Nothing to see here folks, just women supporting other women! On Nov. 30, private texts between Kesha and Lady Gaga that ended up in court documents obtained by Radar Online as part of producer Dr. Luke‘s defamation lawsuit against Kesha got out, and the texts were not super flattering in regards to Katy Perry. The two pop divas seemed to believe Katy would not speak out about the producer’s behavior, and they weren’t happy about it. But Gaga and Perry took to Twitter to reassure fans that they’ve matured since the texts were first sent years ago, and there’s no bad blood between them now.

The outlet reported that Kesha reached out to Gaga in unsealed Feb. 26, 2016 messages, saying she “was crying a lot today and needed my mom… I’m really upset with Katy Perry.” Kesha later added, “She’s so mean. It’s hard.” Gaga also said in the messages that she was not “friendly” with Perry, and between that and the rest of the exchange, apparently Gaga and Perry decided they needed to set the record straight on social media.

Gaga wrote after news of the texts got out, “.@katyperry & I have grown up in the industry together. We’ve gone through both celebrations & differences w/ each other. These are old texts. We’ve matured, gotten over the past, love each other & share deep respect. Katy is my friend and is truly a kind soul. End of story. ❤️” Perry then retweeted that post and replied, “Love you too friend ❤️ Onward and upward 👩‍❤️‍👩.”

The Twitter statements came after the unflattering texts that were released included exchanges like Kesha writing, “She could bring the whole thing to a head… She was [assaulted] by the same man. She is probably really afraid to lose everything,” and Gaga responding, “U are really strong standing up to him, she’s not as strong as u yet.” There was also an exchange in which Kesha said, “I need to find sympathy and empathy for her. She’s so mean. it’s hard,” and Gaga replied, “Do u want me to see if I can talk to her. I know she’s mean… She makes me angry about s–t [but] I just try to have empathy for her.”

But apparently, there are no hard feelings between these two pop divas these days. Ladies lifting other ladies up — that’s the kind of support we love to see!
