Kim Kardashian ‘Interviewing’ Potential Partners 8 Months After Split: Wants to ‘Be More Discerning’

Kim Kardashian is dipping her toe back in the dating scene, but she’s taking her time and wary of getting too serious with anyone too soon after a string of recent comebacks, a source exclusively tells Life & Style

“Kim is enjoying herself and she absolutely wants to be in a relationship again someday,” the source says, adding, “She just doesn’t feel in a big rush.”

“This the longest she’s ever been single in her adult life, and it’s been a great learning experience for her because she’s had the chance to get to know herself and really zero in on what makes her happy.”

The SKIMS founder, 44, split from her last boyfriend, Odell Beckham Jr., in April. Since, the reality star has been insistent on keeping to herself and not chasing the next romance that comes her way. And it’s paid off for her, big time. The source says that for Kim, “being able to find happiness without a man has been so empowering and now she’s coming at dating with a very different attitude.”

Kim’s entire dating history is fraught with messy relationships. She was famously married to NBA player Kris Humphries for 72 hours in 2011 and before that had a dramatic on-again-off-again relationship with Reggie Bush for about two years, from 2007 to 2009.

But The Kardashians star’s most toxic relationship has to be with ex-husband Kanye “Ye” West, to whom she was married from 2014 to 2022. Their union ended in very public flames as the rapper suffered meltdown after meltdown struggling with his mental health. Kim, often on the sidelines, tried to help the best she could, but ultimately decided to call it quits, saying, “For so long, I did what made other people happy. And I think in the last two years I decided, I’m going to make myself happy. And that feels really good. And even if that created changes and caused my divorce, I think it’s important to be honest with yourself about what really makes you happy. I’ve chosen myself. I think it’s okay to choose you.”

Carrying the sentiment forward, the source says that Kim’s now come to terms with being alone, which has given her strength and confidence.

“She doesn’t need a man in her life,” the insider adds. “If they check all the boxes and add to her life then great, but they need to prove themselves over time before they get to that next level.”

Eight months after her split from Odell, 32, Page Six reported that Kim is now dating a real estate investor who “isn’t in the public eye,” and she’s keeping the new relationship super low-key for the time being.

“She’s dating, or as she likes to say, ‘interviewing’ possible candidates,” the insider says, “but she isn’t ready to debut anyone as her official boyfriend yet, that has to be earned.”

“She’s very empowered so it’s a lot easier for her to be more discerning, versus before, when she felt like her happiness was contingent on being in a relationship. It’s made dating a lot more fun because there’s no pressure.”
