When Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in October of 2016, the world was absolutely shocked. Naturally, someone with a lot of money and material wealth like Kim would be an attractive target for a high-profile attack, so it made sense when Kim made mention during some post-robbery press that she didn’t feel comfortable being as flashy as she once was with her possessions. But on January 11, Kim took to Instagram to share off some new blingy ~grillz~ and broke her stride of keeping her extreme wealth off social media.

“New Grillz [sic],” the 38-year-old captioned the close-up, slightly blurry shot of her mouth. She showed off some pretty flashy diamonds on her bottom row, while up top she rocked a bejeweled cross between her two front teeth. This is actually the third time since the devastating robbery that Kim has been this upfront about a piece of her jewelry collection, with the first being a cute yet simple photo of some necklaces and a more simple grill piece back in January. The second was on Snapchat in August 2018 where she was wearing a small grill that spelled her name, according to the Daily Mail.

When Kim detailed the incident on Ellen in April 2017, she revealed that she heard the intruders running up the stairs in her Paris apartment before they held her at gunpoint, but just thought it was “her sister and friend drunk.” The terrifying ordeal was said to have lasted less than 10 minutes and it brought Kim to a place where she no longer wanted to parade her wealth.

“They had been hearing interviews that I did getting excited about this jewelry or this jewelry, and it’s not to say that I’ll never wear jewelry again or anything like that,” Kim said of the situation on Ellen. “I truly don’t know if I’d ever feel comfortable, I truly don’t know if I’d ever wear real jewelry again.”

The last photo Kim had posted to social media before the robbery included grills and her engagement ring, which was reported to be stolen.

It seems as though Kim has finally gotten back to a place where she feels comfortable doing what she does best: showing off. We kinda miss flashy Kim. Most importantly, though, we’re glad she’s feeling more willing to be open again. It takes strength to be vulnerable. We see you, Kim!
