Well, that’s one way to celebrate the arrival of a new baby! When Whitney Thore‘s best friend Ashley Baynes found out about her unexpected pregnancy, she stepped up immediately to be one of the most important people in Ashley’s support system — and Whitney even agreed to be Ashley’s birthing coach! But the My Big Fat Fabulous Life star didn’t expect Ashley’s pregnancy to be one of the things that brought her back together with her other best friend Todd Beasley after their little rift.

In an exclusive sneak peek from tonight’s episode, Ashley held a baby blessing ceremony to celebrate the upcoming arrival of baby No. 1, which is when family and friends gather to offer spiritual gifts and prayer to the unborn child and the mommy-to-be. Instead of buying Ashley’s baby a material gift, Whitney decided that she wanted to use her talent as a dancer to perform a piece in honor of her friend’s baby — and she asked her longtime dance partner Todd to join her, despite the fact that their friendship was not on the best of terms. It’s nice to see that Todd and Whitney were able to put their differences aside and work together to create a beautiful routine for Ashley’s baby. Whitney seemed to enjoy herself at the ceremony as well, even though her best friend’s pregnancy is dragging up some suppressed emotions about own fertility.

During last week’s episode, Whitney got real about whether she thinks motherhood will ever be a possibility for her. “I realize that through throwing myself into helping Ashely prepare for her child I’ve been avoiding my feelings about whether I want to have a child or not,” she admitted. “It’s hard because I don’t have a boyfriend — I can’t even get a date, and on top of that even if I had that, I have fertility problems so it’s just a hard thing to face when you feel like you’re running out of time.”
