Prince Harry Reveals He’s Had ‘About 2 Hours Sleep’ Since Welcoming His Son With Meghan Markle
Let the parenting begin! Prince Harry admitted he’s barely slept, a few hours after Meghan Markle gave birth to a baby boy on Monday, May 6.
The duke, 34, stepped outside Windsor Castle to dish on how his life has changed since becoming a dad. “I’ve had about two hours’ sleep,” the former military pilot said, according to ITV News.
Despite being tired, Harry is thrilled over his growing family. “This is definitely my first birth. It was amazing, absolutely incredible,” he told the outlet. “As I said, I am so incredibly proud of my wife and as every father and parent would ever say, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to die for, so I’m just over the moon.”
Harry added that Meghan, 37, and the baby couldn’t be doing better. “Meghan and myself had a baby boy early this morning — a very healthy boy,” he said. “Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. This has been the most amazing experience I could possibly imagine.”
At one point, he expressed his awe for women everywhere, before thanking royal fans for their endless support. “How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension. But we are both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everyone out there. It’s been amazing. So we just wanted to share this with everybody.”
The exciting news was first announced on the couple’s official Instagram account. “We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz.,” read the statement.
The name of the new prince has yet to be revealed but the Instagram caption did mention “more details will be shared in the forthcoming days.” It looks like royal fans will have to be a little more patient!
