The first Valentine’s Day after you get married should be a special one, but sometimes that’s impossible when royal duties are calling! Prince Harry spent February 14 in Norway with military personnel instead of Meghan Markle, but the troops still found a way to honor the 34-year-old’s beautiful bride. The trip to the Arctic Circle was Harry’s first overseas visit as the Captain General of the Royal Marines, so it wasn’t exactly something he could bail on to exchange chocolates with Meghan.

A Piece of Home
Still, the troops tried to make him feel welcome and commemorate his wife. He took a peek inside of one of their igloos, and noticed a bunch of photos from his extravagant wedding inside. Harry laughed, joking that it was a “shrine,” but he didn’t seem to mind.

Extreme Cold
Harry’s visit was meant to make sure the troops were equipped to handle extreme cold, and you can tell by his red cheeks that he’s feeling it! If only he could return to his warm palace home with Meghan.

He also watched as the Commando Helicopter Force practiced their safety exercises in the frigid weather … something they’ve done for 50 years! Can’t break a tradition like that, can we?

A Welcome Visit
Harry’s inferiors seemed thrilled to have him. While he gets to go home soon, they have to stay there all the time, so they’ve definitely earned a royal visit.
