Reese Witherspoon, Angelina Jolie and Mary-Kate Olsen Are Ready to Wed — Again!
When you know, you know. This summer — more than a year after Reese Witherspoon ended her second marriage, to former talent agent Jim Toth, 54 — the world learned she was seeing a wealthy divorced dad of two. In July, the Oscar winner, 48, stepped out with German private equity financier Oliver Haarmann, 57, in NYC — and she’s only fallen harder since then. “Reese is crazy in love with Oliver,” an insider exclusively tells Life & Style. “She’s not one to rush into things, but she’s told friends she could easily see herself marrying him. If he proposed today, she’d say yes. She’d love to invite friends to a surprise winter wedding.”
Oliver is “different from other guys,” adds the source, and not just because he doesn’t work in Hollywood like Jim or first husband Ryan Phillippe, 50. (Reese has said their “tough” 2006 breakup made her brain feel like “scrambled eggs” for years.) “Oliver is mature, fun, loving and secure in himself,” explains the source. “She’s confident this would be her last marriage.”
Another star that might be ready to wed is Angelina Jolie. Eight years after leaving third husband Brad Pitt, 60, Angelina hasn’t publicly dated anyone. But over the past 18 months, she’s sparked romance speculation following meetups in Jamaica, Italy, NYC and England with British music artist, author and activist Akala. A new report alleges they spent October 16 and 17 together at her London hotel, the Corinthia, before Akala, 40, “snuck out” on October 18 and joined the Oscar winner, 49, at the London Film Festival premiere of her film Maria and a “romantic” dinner at Soho House.
“He’s handsome, intelligent, worldly, and they’re passionate about the same causes. Akala is pretty much her dream guy,” says an insider, though recent reports claim he’s in a relationship with his business partner, Chanelle Newman. “Meeting Akala made Angie realize the right person for her might still be out there.”
Despite her messy divorce from Brad, riddled with abuse accusations, a nasty child custody battle, and an ongoing lawsuit over the sale of their French estate and winery, “she’s admitted she’d love to get married again,” says the insider. “A simple, spiritual ceremony with someone like Akala who just gets her would make Angie very happy.”
A third star that is interested in heading back down the aisle is Mary-Kate Olsen. In 2020, Mary-Kate’s nearly five-year marriage to Olivier Sarkozy disintegrated. Things were so bad, the child star-turned-fashion designer filed for an emergency order to divorce the French banker, 55, who’d moved his ex-wife, kids and mother into one of their homes and terminated the $29,000-a-month lease on another home MK had been staying in without her knowledge or consent. Four years later, Mary-Kate’s enjoying far less drama with new love Paul-Charles “PC” Valmorbida, 38, an art gallerist from an ultra-wealthy family in Australia.
“She’s known PC for years. He was a friend first,” says an insider. Not long after they were spotted looking cozy together on her 38th birthday in June, “rumors started swirling that they’re headed down the aisle.” While Mary-Kate’s first nuptials famously included “bowls and bowls filled with cigarettes,” her next wedding is likely to be more refined than rebellious, says the insider: “They both have a lot of money and great taste. This would be the invitation of the season.”
