Days after her 25th birthday, Selena Gomez is finally opening up about her recent stint in rehab — and gave fans a much-needed update. The brunette beauty admitted that she is still working on herself, despite checking into a facility for depression and mental health issues.

“I go to therapy. I believe in that and talking about where you are,” Selena told InStyle. “But I’m in a really, really healthy place.” Currently, in a relationship with The Weeknd (real name: Abel Tesfaye), she has come a long way since last year when she unexpectedly canceled her Revival World Tour.

“I went away for 90 days, and it was the best thing that I ever could’ve done,” she explained of her time away from the spotlight last year. “I had no phone, nothing, and I was scared. But it was amazing, and I learned a lot.”

She went on to detail her day-to-day at the facility, which included riding horses. “I was in the countryside and never did my hair; I took part in equine therapy, which is so beautiful,” she added.
“And it was hard, obviously. But I knew what my heart was saying, and I thought, ‘OK, I think this has helped me become stronger for other people.'”

Previously, Life & Style reported that her torturous relationship with Justin Bieber led to her breakdown. “While Selena does suffer from lupus and other health issues, that’s not the reason she went to rehab,” an insider shared. “Her biggest addiction is Justin.”

The source continued, “She became a different person around him,” says the source. “She was extremely jealous and possessive and felt like she had to keep up with him to keep him. So she would drink and smoke, and then she got into weed and partying.”

However, it’s nice to see Selena happy and healthy again. “It’s so weird, how one year can change everything,” she added.
