Sofia Richie Reveals a Beauty Hack for ‘Dry Skin’ That Doesn’t Require Any Moisturizer — Watch!
PSA: Moisturizing your face is crucial to any beauty routine and in no way are we suggesting you ditch it. However, if you need to remove dry skin in a pinch, Sofia Richie’s hack is pretty ingenious!
On Tuesday, October 1, the 21-year-old model took to Instagram to share two behind-the-scenes videos from her glam session. “This is all over some dry skin,” Sofia captioned the first clip. Basically, her makeup artist took some high-quality tweezers (Tweezerman, from what we could tell) to remove a piece of flaking skin from Sofia’s face.
We know what you might be thinking: “Ouch! No way.” As it happens, though, Sofia made it clear to her MUA that it didn’t hurt at all. In fact, Scott Disick’s ladylove was laughing throughout the whole process.
Again, Sofia’s hack is only for extreme circumstances and considering winter will be here in the blink of an eye, it’s actually important to start increasing your moisturizing game. So much so, that celebrity MUA Emma Willis told Life & Style that gravitating toward an oil vs. a lotion may be your best bet!
“I think a lot of people don’t use oil … they’re scared of oil, especially if they have oily skin themselves,” Emma explained, noting that oil benefits all skin types.
“In place of a lightweight moisturizer, something like Super Rich Repair by Dermalogica is amazing for the skin,” she continued. “In the winter, I would still use a much denser, richer moisturizer during the day to give you that barrier.”
As far as flaking skin à la Sofia, well, Emma doesn’t exactly suggest the tweezer method. She suggests exfoliating once or twice a week (with a gentle product).
Additionally, Emma recommended, “[Use] a hot cloth in the morning to wake up the skin … as hot as you can so that it warms up the face like a mini facial. Then, apply your daily moisturizer or a light oil for the face and then go about putting on your makeup application.”
