Travis Kelce Reveals If Kanye West Is on His ‘Hype Playlist’ Amid Rapper’s Feud With Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce revealed that Kanye West is not included on his “hype playlist” amid the rapper’s ongoing feud with Taylor Swift.

During a media day on Wednesday, February 5, ahead of the Super Bowl, one reporter asked Travis, 35, “I know you’re dating Taylor, but do you have any Kanye [West] on your hype playlist?”

“No,” Travis, 35, bluntly responded, according to People.

The question was asked in light of Taylor, 35, and Ye’s complicated history, which began when the “Gold Digger” rapper, 47, interrupted her acceptance speech during the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009 to announce that he believed Beyoncé should have won in the category.

Taylor and Ye appeared to work through their issues, though their feud resumed in 2016 when he released the song “Famous.” In the controversial song, Ye raps, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ Why? I made that bitch famous.”

Shortly after Taylor expressed her disapproval of the song, Ye claimed that she gave him permission to use the lyrics. However, her rep denied his allegations and explained that she took issue with him saying, “I made that bitch famous.”

Kim Kardashian, who Ye was married to at the time of the scandal, later released audio recordings of an alleged conversation between him and Taylor. In the audio, the “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer seemingly approved the lyric, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex.”

The Kardashians star, 44, insisted that Ye didn’t do anything wrong, though Taylor doubled down on her concerns by claiming she wasn’t aware he would refer to her as “that bitch” in the song.

The feud first began more than a decade ago, though Taylor admitted it still impacted her when she was named Time’s Person of the Year in 2023.

“Make no mistake, my career was taken away from me. You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar,” she said at the time. “That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before. I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anymore. I went down really, really hard.”

While Travis revealed that Ye is not on his “hype playlist,” he didn’t share any of the artists that he listens to while preparing for games. However, he has openly complimented Taylor’s music after they started dating in the summer of 2023.

“‘Death By a Thousand Cuts’ is one that I’ve learned to absolutely love,” Travis said about Taylor’s discography during a November 2024 episode of his “New Heights” podcast. “I’ve watched Tay’s [2019 NPR] Tiny Desk and she played it on that one and that’s where I think I fell in love with it.”

When asked by fans to share his “favorite song” of Taylor’s, Travis added, “I mean, ‘Blank Space’ is a song that I’ll always listen to, forever,” the professional athlete said. “It’s just unbelievable. Everything about it.”
