Travis Kelce Says Joining Taylor Swift on Stage In London Was ‘a Memory He’ll Never Forget’

A core memory! Travis Kelce is still reeling from his moment on stage with girlfriend Taylor Swift during the summer of 2024.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, said that when he joined Taylor, 35, on stage at Wembley Stadium was “definitely the most shocking” stage he’s ever been on in his life during an interview with WestwoodOne Sports shared on February 8.

“I felt like an ant in a whole new world. That stadium, the lights, the crowd and how they went insane,” Travis explained. “The whole time I’m thinking, ‘Oh, snap, I have a job to do. I gotta lock in. I’ve got to make this fun; I’ve got to make this entertaining.’”

The “New Heights” host continued, “Tay gave me the opportunity to go out there and have fun, so I went out there and showed her how much fun we could really have up there. Sure enough, the crowd was off their rocker. It was insane and there for quite a while. It’s a memory I’ll never forget, that’s for sure.”

Travis was also asked to describe the difference between taking the stage in front of 90,000 people for one of Taylor’s concerts and taking the field for a game as big as the Super Bowl.

“I feel like there’s similarities,” the Grotesquerie star replied. “I was up there with my guys Kam [Saunders] and Jan [Ravnik], and obviously Taylor, and there was that team aspect of, ‘We’re here together and I’m not up here all by myself.’”

However, he described the mindset between playing a game to win a championship versus performing simply to have fun as “different.”

“There was that team feeling. So, there was some camaraderie and some chemistry up there, but … the biggest difference is that I’m in a football uniform and a helmet and I got a completely different game plan than going out there and having fun,” Travis said.

The Cleveland, Ohio, native thrilled the audience in Wembley Stadium when he showed up on stage to “revive” Taylor after she performed “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” during the June 2024 show. In previous performances, Taylor’s backup dancers carried her to a couch to get her “ready” to break into her next song, “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” When Travis walked out on stage, he had the honor of carrying the Miss Americana star to the couch all on his own.

The NFL star has spoken about the moment several times over the past few months, and one of the main things he was focusing on was not dropping his girlfriend in front of the crowd.

“The one thing I told myself is, ‘Do not drop the baby. Do not drop this. Do not drop Taylor on your way over to the damn couch,’” Travis joked to his brother, Jason Kelce, during the July 3, 2024, episode of their “New Heights” podcast. “The golden rule was do not drop Taylor. Get her to the couch safely. Hold onto the baby.”
