Hannah G. Thought She and Colton Were Going to Get Engaged on ‘The Bachelor’
Poor girl! During the Monday, March 11, episode of The Bachelor, Colton Underwood dumped Hannah G. while they were in Portugal. The blonde beauty revealed to the athlete, 27, that she thought they were going to get engaged at the end of the show, but unfortunately, he didn’t feel the same.
“I realized that I can’t be in love with two people and where my feelings are in another relationship is at a stronger point than where I’m at with you … I realized that I love Cassie,” he said when they chatted in her hotel room. “That’s how much I love Cassie, that I’m willing to walk away from something that great.”
The Alabama native was blindsided by the news and revealed to Chris Harrison that it’s been a tough couple of months since the show ended. “I think what has been hardest for me was reliving this relationship, which I thought was going to be very different each week,” she said. “People come up to me and say, ‘Let me see your engagement ring!’ I don’t have one. It’s really hard. My emotions were so in it, my heart was so in it, it was something that was so serious for me. And he didn’t even want to give it a shot.”
The content creator just wanted answers so that she “can sleep better at night.” When the ABC host asked Hannah if she was still in love with her former beau, she had a surprising response. “I was in love with him,” she dished. “Deep down, I thought it was going to be us and there was no other option, but right now, no. I know what love is and it has to be a two-way street, and I feel like I deserve somebody who loves me just as much as I love them, obviously. That is how it works. So no, I am not in love with him.”
The Indiana native joined Hannah on stage, so that she was able to get the closure she needed and wanted. “How I was feeling about another relationship at the time was stronger,” he explained. “I know that sounds brutal, but I don’t want to beat around the bush or be insensitive, but that was the case in this situation.”
Hannah thought that Colton was going to chase her, but sadly, that didn’t happen. Despite all of the challenges, it seems like Hannah came out on top. “I am really happy for you,” she told Colton. “Having all of these months of struggling and going through a really big heartbreak, that was really real for me and showed me how strong I am and how I can handle way more than I could ever, ever imagine I could. Handling things by myself has taught me what I deserve and what I want in life.”
She ended the night on a happy note, though. “I want somebody to jump a fence for me. I need that kind of relationship,” she joked. We have a feeling you won’t be single for long, girl!
