Who Is Hunter King? Meet Hallmark Channel Actress Starring in Chiefs-Inspired Holiday Movie

Many fans of the Kansas City Chiefs — and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s romance with Taylor Swift — are eager to tune into the Hallmark Channel’s upcoming Christmas movie inspired by the team. At the forefront of the film’s football-centric love story is actress Hunter Haley King, who is a Hallmark Channel veteran.

Who Is Hallmark Channel’s Hunter King?

Hunter, whose real name is Haley Ashley King, has been acting since 2001. She started her career by guest starring on the shows Roswell, Hannah Montana and Workaholics before getting her big break as Summer Newman on The Young and the Restless in 2012. She later starred in Life in Pieces as Clementine in 2015 before returning to The Young and the Restless.

Hunter is also known for her roles in Hollywood Heights and Give Me Your Eyes. She began starring in Hallmark Channel movies in 2022, with roles in the films Hidden Gems, Nikki & Nora: Sister Sleuths, A Royal Corgi Christmas, The Professional Bridesmaid and The Santa Summit.

Who Are Hunter King’s Parents?

Hunter’s parents, Jamie and Terry King, do not work in the entertainment industry, according to multiple reports. However, the couple raised three daughters who went on to become actresses. Hunter is the middle child. Her older sister, Kelli King, is known for Grey’s Anatomy, A Boyfriend for Christmas, Rude Awakening and No Problem.

Are Joey King and Hunter King Related?

Actress Joey King is Hunter’s younger sister, and the two are very close. Joey shared in a 2020 interview with Howard Stern that Hunter is “the single-handed most supportive person I’ve ever met. Her and I, we’ve been best friends since we were little. Her and I just vibe. I love her so much.”

Joey has made a name for herself with hit projects like Ramona and Beezus, The Kissing Booth films and The Act, in which she portrayed Gypsy Rose Blanchard.

Is Hunter King Married?

Hunter is not married, but she was previously engaged to Nico Svoboda in 2018 after two years of dating. The pair called off their engagement in 2020, Us Weekly reported at the time.

“They called off their engagement a few months ago,” a source told the outlet. “It was an amicable split. They obviously still follow each other on social media and care about one another.”

Hunter announced her engagement to boyfriend Chris Copier on October 24, 2024. She shared a video of herself and Chris walking their dogs on the beach as he surprised the actress by getting down on one knee. She jumped for joy and fell to her knees, giving the filmmaker a big hug and a kiss as she accepted his proposal.

“Best day of my life @chriscope88 I can’t wait to marry your ass,” Hunter captioned the post.

“WOOOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I’m so happy for you guys. The sweetest most wonderful news,” Joey commented.

What Is Hallmark Channel’s ‘Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story’ About?

Hunter stars in Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story alongside Tyler Hynes, Ed Begley Jr., Mary Elizabeth McDonough, Christine Ebersole, Richard Riehle, Jera Good and Jenna McCarty. The movie follows Chiefs superfan Alana as she tries to win the Fan of the Year Award as a Christmas gift for her family. Along the way, she finds love with Derrick, the Chiefs’ director of fan engagement, who must evaluate how Alana and her family stack up against the competition.

“As the pair spends time together, it’s clear there’s a spark between them, but when her grandfather’s vintage Chiefs good luck winter hat goes missing, Alana begins to doubt everything she believed about fate, destiny and even questions her future with Derrick — unless, that is, a little Christmas magic can throw a Hail Mary,” the synopsis reads.

Though Holiday Touchdown does not directly follow Travis and Taylor’s multimillion-dollar romance, many fans have theorized that the couple inspired the idea to create a Chiefs movie. Travis’ mom, Donna Kelce, even appears in the film. Hallmark’s Chief Brand Officer Darren Abbott also seemingly dropped a Tayvis Easter egg in his statement about the movie.

“With Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs both homegrown, rooted in values, tradition and community, there is a special alchemy between these two iconic organizations,” seemingly referring to Taylor’s song “The Alchemy,” which is believed to be about Travis.
